Barn demolition in Montreal, professional service priced by volume.
On the island, you still come across old barns, stables or big outbuildings on the large lots of the West Island and in the more rural pockets. When the structure leans, the roof leaks and the beams have had their day, it becomes a hazard and takes up space. We take it apart board by board, load the wood, the sheet metal and the debris into the truck, and leave you a flat, cleared lot. Old barn board that's still sound, we can set aside for you: it's often worth something.
What we haul away during your barn demolition
- Full frame: beams, joists, studs, roof trusses and floor sleepers
- Exterior barn-board siding (the weathered grey planks), shingles, roof sheet metal and flashing
- Hay-loft floors, mezzanines, fixed ladders and hatches
- Stalls, feed troughs, animal partitions and old interior woodwork
- Leftover hay, straw and dry organic debris piled up inside the structure
- Old windows, sliding track doors and rusted hardware
- Ground debris after teardown: nails, fittings, wood ends, twisted metal
How your barn demolition works
We first come see the barn, or look at your photos, to judge the state of the frame, the height and the access, then we confirm the price based on the space the debris will take in the truck (often several loads for a barn). On the day, we work top down: roofing, siding, then frame, securing each section before bringing it down. We load as we go, set aside salvageable wood, metal and sheeting, and leave with the ground raked clean.
Why bring us in for your barn demolition
A barn is big, heavy and unpredictable: exactly the kind of job we don't subcontract. Pavel, Mickael and Justin are on site, the company carries liability insurance, and the volume-based price holds to the end, even when it takes one more load than planned. We work from the top down, securing each section. Sheet metal goes to metal recycling, sound wood is set aside or donated, and the rest is disposed of responsibly, about 80% diverted from landfill.

Read our story
Ramasse Vite was founded in 2025 by three partners: Pavel, Mickael and Justin. Starting out on the South Shore, they shared the belief that junk removal could be reliable, transparent and done right. Ramasse Vite Montréal is the same crew and the same way of working, all over the island.
Our mission is simple: make junk removal and waste pickup effortless for our clients. Whether it's furniture removal, construction debris hauling, a basement or garage cleanout, or a full property clearout, we handle every project with diligence, cleanliness, punctuality, and a genuine environmental urgency. Our crew knows Montreal's realities: plexes and their outdoor staircases, back lanes, tight parking and the July 1st rush.

FAQ: barn demolition in Montreal
Do I need a permit to demolish my barn?
For a structure this size, check with your borough or city: the rules vary from one place to the next on the island, and it's the owner's job to get the permit if one is needed. We can start as soon as you have the go-ahead. Call us before and we'll tell you what we see on site to help you fill out your application.
What do you do with the old barn wood, is it worth anything?
Weathered barn board resells well, so if the planks are sound we can take them down carefully and stack them on your lot instead of hauling them off. You keep it, or we send it to reuse. Sheet metal and steel go to recycling, the rest is disposed of responsibly.
What if the roof contains asbestos or the barn is too unstable?
On older buildings, some siding or roof panels can contain asbestos, which needs specialized removal that we don't do ourselves. If we suspect any, we tell you before starting. For a very unstable structure that would need an excavator, we assess the situation and are honest about what we can do by hand.
